  1. Dear Ruth,

We’d love you to invite you to attend our event at Art House in Rossendale next Friday 26th February.

Arthouse has teamed up with award-winning children’s authors Harriet Goodwin, Linda Chapman and Sophie Conran to organise a nationwide story writing competition for children aged four to eleven.

The event will be held in Art House’s beautiful converted church setting and we’d love you to come along, take lots of photos and enjoy drinks and lunch!

The winners of the competition, combined with a selection of fantastic runners up, have been compiled into a beautifully illustrated hardback story book – ‘The Little Book of Imagination – For Children, by Children’.

On the day, the winning books will be presented to the children by the authors, local MP Jake Berry and MD of Arthouse Anita Kenyon. You’ll have the chance to chat to the author’s and winners and see how children’s books have changed over the years – from your day to your children’s!

The book will be available to purchase nationwide, and all profits will go to the local Rossendale Hospice, of which Arthouse are proud patrons, supporting their valued work improving the quality of life for those with life-limiting illnesses.

Over 500 children from across the UK submitted stories inspired by the designs of Arthouse’s latest collection of children’s wall coverings and six entries, including three from Lancashire, have been crowned the UK winners and will have their stories published.

In addition, for those who have entered via their school, the winning school will receive £500 to spend on creative materials.
