My two little ones had an action packed day to celebrate International Languages Day and were sent to school dressed as Spaniards..
Trying to find outfits was the hardest part but luckily my daughter already had a flamenco dress that my husband had brought back from Uncle Paul’s stag do in Madrid. Rory’s outfit was much harder to come by until I had the brainwave that his pirate outfit teamed up with a bowler hat should do the trick!
Children arrived in school wearing traditional Spanish attire such as sombreros, castanets, home-made fans and even one wearing the mask of Zorro. After the teachers conducted the registers in Spanish the children were all treated to Flamenco lessons followed by the kitchen staff creating a delicious paella.
A fun day was had by all and we now need to start planning a holiday to Spain perhaps next year to put all their enthusiasm into practice!
