Blow Dry, Bubbles and Giggles

As an impromptu birthday gift for my friend Rachel I treated her to a blow dry at Kara’s Blow Dry bar on John Dalton Street which I willingly joined in on.  It was great fun sipping champagne and chatting side by side, whilst the two hair dressers cleverly styled and curled our hair ready for the night out.  After the initial shock of seeing myself in the mirror and thinking I looked like I was trying out for a part in Dallas I did actually like it so thanks very much Kara’s Blow Dry Bar.  Rachel’s hair looked fab and the two of us left the salon excited about the night ahead.

We tried out the cocktail bar on deansgate called Elixir which was fantastic, the atmosphere was great although we struggled to find a table at first which I guess is a good sign.  Our first cocktail was called Paradise Lost and was a mixture of vodka, strawberry, vanilla, lemon juice and champagne.  It came with a delicious strawberry coated in chocolate which is a nice touch.  The next cocktail was equally as nice but I can’t remember it’s name and then we walked over to the Corn Exchange to meet Laura and Rebecca although I should probably say hobble as I’m definitely out of practice with my heels.

We ate at the Mexican restaurant Wahaca in the Corn Exchange and shared a selection of nibbles which were yummy and between the four of us we put the world to rights. We had a selection of enchiladas, and small tapas type dishes followed by delicious chocolate bites and gorgeous churros.    We finished the night off at Harvey Nichols wine bar with a lovely glass of Malbec. Surprisingly I felt ok the next day..

It really was a fun night and I would definitely recommend all the places above.  Looking forward to the next girls night out already.
